Chris Grant, Deputy Chief, Planning and Physical Resources

Chris Grant, Deputy Chief of Planning and Physical Resources, is responsible for overseeing the daily fleet and base operations of the service. Born and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Chris began his career in EMS in Collingwood, Ontario in 1986. He worked for the town of Orillia until 1989. He then moved to Windsor, Ontario and soon afterwards became president of Amherstburg Anderson Malden (AAM) Volunteer Ambulance. In January 2001, the County of Essex assumed responsibility for the delivery of all land ambulance services for the County of Essex, the City of Windsor and the Township of Pelee. Chris joined Essex-Windsor EMS as a Supervisor in 2006. In 2009, he became the Deputy Chief of Operations and in mid-2015 moved into the role of Deputy Chief of Planning and Physical Resources.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief are the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, Vehicle Services Technician and Logistics Technician.

Fleet and Equipment

The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the management of vehicles, equipment and facility maintenance. Assisting him with those duties is the Vehicle Services Technician. He provides routine maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure they are fully stocked and serviceable. Also assisting the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is the Logistics Technician who ensures the availability and delivery of supplies.
