Information & Technology Services

The Information & Technology Services (IT) Department is mandated to enable the effective use of information and technology in all departments of the Corporation of the County of Essex, to assist in efficient achievement of corporate objectives.  A key success factor in helping the IT department with its mandate is building partnerships with the different County of Essex departments, as well as external organizations. Organizations supported by the IT Department include the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority (EWSWA), the Regional Physician Recruitment Office, the Sun Parlor Home, Essex-Windsor EMS, the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation, and Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.

The IT department, through the Manager, is accountable for the overall management of computer use throughout the corporate structure, including application support, centralized and decentralized computer operations, telecommunication, project management, technology planning, technology support, geographic information systems support, internet bandwidth and usage, as well as website support.  The IT department staff are driven by the highest professional standards and guided by the following principles:
