3rd ANNUAL WARDEN'S LUNCHEON ADDRESS

Essex County Warden Nelson Santos addressed a large crowd of political and business representatives from across Windsor and Essex County at the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce's 3rd Annual Warden's Luncheon. This year's event was held at the Camoes Portuguese Club of Harrow and sponsored by the United Communities Credit Union.

On Friday, October 16, 2009, Windsor and Essex County was recognized as one of the top 21 most intelligent communities in the world by the Intelligent Community Forum.  The Intelligent Community Forum is a think tank that studies the economic and social development of the 21st Century community, based in New York, New York. The ICF seeks to share the best practices of the world's Intelligent Communities in adapting to the demands of the Broadband Economy, in order to help communities everywhere find sustainable renewal and growth.

The County of Essex is currently undertaking a Regional Transit Study with the support and participation of the seven lower-tier municipalities, the City of Windsor and Transit Windsor. NEWS RELEASE - AUGUST 24, 2009
Essex County Receives AMO Award for Heating Bridge with Geothermal Energy

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario has announced that the Corporation of the County of Essex is the recipient of the 2009 P.J. Marshall Award for exploring use of the earth's natural heat to melt snow and ice from the bridge which was constructed over Cedar Creek. The award was presented at the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference held in Ottawa.
